Status Epilepticus Australasian Registry for Children (SEARCh)
Quick facts
Convulsive status epilepticus (CSE) is a life-threatening condition, occurring when seizures do not stop by themselves. Patient treatments for this condition are usually based on expert opinion because conducting research on this is difficult. The project aims to collect data on children with CSE presenting to emergency departments, including seizure type, the causes, duration, treatments and outcome. This information will be valuable for medical specialists in this field to determine research priorities and improve care for children.
