Consumers contribute in valuable and positive ways, by sharing their experiences, offering advice, feedback, and suggestions to help guide our health service in world class planning and delivery of patient focused healthcare for everyone.
Consumer participation contributes to a range of outcomes in the health system such as:
- more accessible and effective health services
- development of services and models of care reflective of community needs
- evaluation of health care services from the consumer perspective
As part of the Gold Coast Health’s commitment to meaningful consumer involvement, the Always Care Consumer Network is an ongoing mechanism for health consumers, carers and representatives from community organisations to participate in health care planning and the improvement, delivery and assessment of Gold Coast Health services.
Members of the Always Care Consumer Network receive important information, publications, surveys, materials in development for feedback, and special projects to be involved in. With all activities undertaken online, Gold Coast Health is able to draw on the lived experience and feedback of a diverse range of representatives of the Gold Coast Community, despite the busy lives many lead.
The advice and feedback provided by the Always Care Consumer Network has a direct impact on health service delivery, infrastructure planning, and the overall patient experience.
