Care after death
Whether it’s expected or unexpected, the time following the death of a loved one can be overwhelming, difficult, and sometimes confusing. Any death of someone close to you is devastating, we have put together some resources to help you navigate through this difficult time.
Interpreter services
Our health service provides free interpreters for patients from non-English speaking backgrounds.
Travel assistance
The Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme provides financial help for people who have to travel more than 50km for specialist medical services. This can include assistance with travel and accommodation costs for you and your family member or carer.
Organ donation
The Organ and Tissue Authority (OTA) works with states and territories, clinicians and the community sector to deliver the Australian Government’s national reform programme to improve organ and tissue donation and transplantation outcomes in Australia.
Spiritual care
Spiritual Carers and Chaplains offer spiritual care to patients and their families from five different faith groups and 12 different Christian denominations offering compassionate, sensitive and respectful spiritual care to people of all faiths.
Lost property
Lost property is a service that collects and maintains lost property of patients, staff and visitors in the Gold Coast and Hospital Service.

Healthier you provides access to information on a range of different health topics and provides connection to free and low cost programs and services that can help you to improve your health.
