Gold Coast Health’s Adult and Older Persons Inpatient Mental Health Services provide inpatient hospital admissions for people most severely impacted by mental illness and who need more intensive mental health care which cannot be provided in the community.
We provide a range of therapeutic interventions, including medication management, group and individual therapy, sensory assessments, support and peer and family support.
Our focus is on helping patients and their families to understand and manage mental health conditions while providing education and interventions that align with individuals' recovery goals with support from Gold Coast Health’s peer and carer teams.
Our multidisciplinary team of Nurses, Psychiatrists, Registrars, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists and Peer Worker's ensure that care is patient focused, comprehensive, and collaborative.
Our hospital care units have strong partnerships with community teams, including government and non-government organisations (NGOs).
The Mental Health Hospital in the Home provides an alternative to hospitalisation, so that patients can be cared for within their own home.
