We want to better understand the sexual health knowledge and sexual behaviours in young people. The data will guide how we can improve sexual health services and messaging around sexual health. This survey is anonymous, and you cannot be identified. The survey is being distributed at our youth outreach events.

The 2024 Australian Secondary Students and Sexual Health Survey is now open! Please refer to the fact sheet.
This is a national survey run by La Trobe University. It looks at young people’s sexual health and experiences of school-based sex education.
We are looking for young people, aged 14-18 years, who live in Australia to fill in our online survey.
This study aims to gather information about people who are either on this medication or assisting in the administration of it. Participation is voluntary and will not affect any ongoing care.

Email addresses are collected for follow up and for emailing the gift vouchers, but this will be stored securely only within the REDCAP data collection system and not within the study data.

The online survey monitors trends in sexual behaviour, relationships, the use of different HIV prevention strategies, drug use and testing for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. The results are used to guide HIV and sexual health programs.
Participation is open to:
- Men (cisgender or transgender) who identify as gay or bisexual or have had sex with another man in the past five years, and
- Non-binary people who have had sex with gay, bi or queer men in the past five years
You must be at least 16 years of age and live in Australia. You should only complete the survey once each year. Women and temporary visitors to Australia are not eligible to take part. Further information is available via the University of New South Wales.
