Pharmacy
Gold Coast Health’s pharmacy service provides professional advice and management of medications across the whole of the health service, including inpatient, outpatient and community facilities.
Our dedicated team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and assistants provide important medication advice and support to our medical and nursing staff, and direct to patients, ensuring that you get the best treatment possible.
Medication supplied at discharge, or as an outpatient, will incur a fee in most circumstances. You will be provided an invoice with your supply, which is payable direct to Gold Coast Health.
Pathology
Gold Coast University Hospital is host to the Queensland Health Pathology Service which is the principal provider of public sector pathology services in Queensland, supplying clinical diagnostic services to the hospital and other facilities throughout the state.
The Queensland Health Pathology Service has close links with Queensland 's leading universities, including Griffith University and Bond University on the Gold Coast as well as the University of Queensland and the Queensland University of Technology.
You may be eligible for the QHPSS Pathologist Relocation Package. Pathologists engaged by Queensland Health will be entitled to appointment and relocation expenses.
Population Health
The focus of this department is on the health and well-being of populations, rather than individuals. Its objectives are protecting health, preventing disease, illness and injury and promoting healthier choices.
The area undertakes public health planning, strategy development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. It supports programs for priority health issues at a state and local level, undertakes health surveillance and disease control initiatives including response to disease outbreaks.
Medical Imaging
The Gold Coast University Hospital Medical imaging technologists have access to state of art technology. The department provides general radiography 24/7, minor procedures, mammograpy, Digital angiography and digital screening procedures, teaching, advice and consultation, clinical photography and hosts an X-ray museum.

- Nuclear Medicine (NM)

- Medical Imaging Informatics (PACS/RIS) Support.
Psychology
Gold Coast University Hospital employs psychologists in a number of areas including Mental Health and Other Drugs (AODS).
Individuals wishing to practice as a psychologist in Queensland are required to be registered with the Psychology Board of Queensland. A postgraduate qualification in Clinical Psychology or Neuropsychology is required for many psychology positions.
