Nurses and Midwives

Nurses and midwives must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) to practise in Australia.

The NMBA also have a specific framework for the assessment of internationally qualified nurses and midwives for registration. This framework also includes information on relevant English language proficiency levels requirements to work in Australia.

Doctors

Medical practitioners must be registered with the Medical Board of Australia (MBA) to practice medicine in Australia.

International medical graduates, who have not completed their primary medical degree in Australia or New Zealand may be eligible for limited registration with the MBA.
