Acute Mental Health - Pandanus

Pandanus is designed to provide for a safe and therapeutic environment in the provision of specialised acute inpatient service for consumers aged between 18-65 years. This service has strong partnerships with the community, government and non-government organisations (NGOs).

Pandanus Unit is a 24 bed facility consisting of 18 Open Acute Care beds of which 18 are currently operational and 6 Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) beds.

The PICU beds are located in a separate area within the Acute Adult Mental Health Unit, the purpose of which is the provision of safe, high quality care for consumers who are in an acutely ill phase of a mental illness.

Admission to the Pandanus Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit will be based on an assessment of the person, their risk factors, mental status and physical condition.

Client intake is managed via geographical boundaries.
