Child and Youth Mental Health Wattle Inpatient Unit (under 18 years)

Who we are

The Child and Youth Mental Health Wattle Unit provides specialist inpatient mental health care for young people under 18 years old at Robina Hospital.

What we do

The Wattle Unit delivers high-quality, family-focused, and developmentally informed mental health care. We treat young people with significant mental illnesses and associated risks that cannot be safely managed in a community setting. We use a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to the individual recovery goals of consumers and their families.

Young people admitted to our unit may experience challenges including but not limited to depression, anxiety, eating disorders, psychotic disorders, or other symptoms that impact their functioning. During an admission, our staff will work closely with young people and their families or carers to develop individualised care plans to assist a patients' recovery journey.

Who can access this service

Young people under 18 years old experiencing severe mental health difficulties are eligible. Admissions for children under 12 years of age are considered on a case-by-case basis.
