Young neurodivergent Gold Coasters now have greater access to health support, thanks to the relocation and expansion of key Child Development Services clinics to the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct (GCHKP). 

Meet the Director of Nutrition and Food Services at Gold Coast Health, Nicole Ross, who is sharing her knowledge about dietary and food services with the design team for the new Coomera Hospital. Her team’s insights ensure, that from the get-go, the needs of the staff who will use the space are central to the design, resulting in a patient-focussed, efficient and innovative food service.

Meet Sean Middleton, the Construction Manager for the Secure Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit (SMHRU), currently under construction at the Gold Coast University Hospital. Set to open its first 20 beds during the first quarter of 2025. Sean is on-site daily, ensuring every phase of the project, from structural work to final fit-out, is executed as smoothly as possible.

During her 52-year nursing career, Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH) Nursing Unit Manager, Margaret Connolly stayed true to a promise she made to herself, right up until her retirement this week, aged 70.
“I vowed that I would never treat my staff the way I had been treated as a trainee nurse,” Margaret said.
Margaret reflects proudly on the skills growth among her staff and her own achievements during 37 years with Gold Coast Health.
