Experienced clinicians and leaders appointed to Gold Coast Hospital and Health Board
A newly formed board with experience in health, leadership and government relations has been appointed to help shape the future of healthcare on the Gold Coast.
The Gold Coast Hospital and Health Board is led by continuing Chair Professor Cindy Shannon AM, who has a wealth of experience in First Nations health, health systems research and tertiary education.
“It’s wonderful to see two new faces joining the board this year and equally, I also acknowledge outgoing members for their valuable contributions,” Professor Shannon said.

Australian First Rehabilitation Robot
Gold Coast University Hospital is the first hospital in Australia to introduce a rehabilitation robot, ROBERT, to fast-track recovery and deliver better patient outcomes. The robot provides high repetition robotic therapy to help rehabilitate patients effectively under the supervision of clinicians.
