Through strong partnerships with local universities and TAFEs, we support undergraduate and postgraduate pathways, fostering a dynamic environment where research and teaching are integral to our workplace.

We provide flexible and rewarding career pathways with opportunities across all aspects of patient care. Whatever your background, you’ll discover a wide range of exciting career opportunities across Gold Coast Health, with roles in every major area of nursing and midwifery, from inpatient care through to outpatient and community settings.

Magnet designation

Gold Coast Health achieved redesignation as a Magnet® organisation in August 2025 from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. We are one of only two organisations in Australia (both in Queensland) to hold this credential.  We first achieved Magnet Recognition, an international credential recognising nursing excellence, in 2020, becoming the first whole health service (including all of our facilities) in Australia to achieve this credential.  Our Magnet Recognition includes our three hospitals and multiple community sites.

Magnet provides a roadmap to nursing and midwifery excellence, and recognises organisations for:

  • Nurses and midwives and the quality of care they provide to the Gold Coast community.
  • Providing professional development, career growth and opportunities.
  • Supportive work practices and processes.
  • A workplace culture that values staff input into decision-making, interprofessional collaboration, innovation and evidence-based practice.
