Who we are
The Community Child & Youth Mental Health Services Continuing Care Teams (CYMHS CCT) is a part of Gold Coast Health. The team is dedicated to providing you and your family with confidential and voluntary mental health services.
What we do
CYMHS CCT is a multidisciplinary team that includes: psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, speech pathologists and nurses who provide support to children and young people aged 0-18 years who face severe and complex mental health challenges. Our services include comprehensive mental health assessments, crisis management, individual therapy, family focussed therapies and support, and collaborative interagency care planning. We prioritise recovery-focused, evidence-based, and family-centred approaches to care and can provide additional support if needed by our carer peer support workers. Following initial contact, a child/young person and their family may be offered an assessment appointment where their presenting difficulties and history will be explored, and they will have an opportunity to identify their concerns and needs. Our team provides recommendations around the best treatment options and will engage with the young person and family to achieve those.
Who can access this service
If you are a child or young person up to 18 years old experiencing severe mental illness, or you are a family member or caregiver with a child or young person experiencing severe mental health concerns and residing on the Gold Coast, our services are here for you.
How to access this service
If you are a current consumer, or carer of a current consumer of CYMHS CCT, you can reach out to your treating team via the contact details provided. We ensure that you and your family play a central role in all decisions, and you can contact us to discuss a young person’s current care.
If you are new to the service, are a young person or carer of a young person, you can self-refer to our service. Health care providers can also refer you to our specialised mental health care teams. Visit the Access Care page for more information on how to make this referral.
Opening times and our location
Our opening times are 8.30 am to 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday.
