Who We Are
The Surgical Short Stay Unit is a dedicated inpatient facility designed to provide comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care for patients undergoing short-stay surgical interventions or elective surgical procedures.
The unit can accommodate up to 24 patients at a time and caters to various surgical specialties, including:
- General Surgery
- Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT)
- Urology
- Gynaecology and Urogynaecology
- Orthopaedics
- Plastic Surgery (including Breast Surgery)
- Ophthalmology
- Gastrointestinal and Gastroenterology (including Endoscopic procedures)
What We Do
Our primary purpose is to deliver high quality nursing care to patients requiring elective short–term, pre-operative and post-operative support.
Additionally, we:
- Provide healthcare services to individuals with acute surgical conditions or injuries.
- Offer education and advice for patients regarding their surgical procedures and post-surgical recovery.
The Surgical Short Stay Unit is staffed by a multidisciplinary team, including a Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurses, Clinical Facilitator, Registered Nurses, Pharmacists, Medical Officers, Administrative Personnel, and Environmental Services Officers.
Eligibility for Our Services
Our services are available to:
- Elective bookings
- Adults and young adults aged 14–90 years.
- Individuals weighing over 40 kilograms.
