Who we are

The Child and Youth Mental Health Nurse Navigator (NN) Service is dedicated to assisting families of children and young people under 18 years of age with complex conditions in navigating mental health services effectively.

What we do

Our service focuses on ensuring timely and appropriate access to healthcare professionals and providers. We empower families by educating them about the care process and actively involving them in treatment decisions, based on the four pillars of nurse navigation: 

  1. Coordination of care
  2. Creating partnerships
  3. Improving patient outcomes
  4. Facilitating system Improvement.

CYMHS community teams providing Gold Coast–wide care will continue to operate across multiple locations, including Proxima, the Robina Health Precinct and the Head to Health Kids site in Nerang, depending on what best meets the needs of the child or young person.
