Who we are
The Child and Youth Mental Health Service Eating Disorder Program (CYMHS EDP) provides evidence-based care in the community for young people up to 22 years of age who are experiencing life threatening eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa.
What we do
CYMHS EDP provides:
- assessment of eating difficulties and mental health
- family based treatment, however, individual therapy is offered if clinically indicated
- liaison with hospital-based services, general practitioners, schools and other professionals (only with consent)
- medicine if required and agreed.
Who can access this service
Our program is open to anyone under 22 years of age diagnosed with an eating disorder which is causing significant impacts to physical health and wellbeing.
How to access this service
If you are a current consumer, or carer of a current consumer of CYMHS EDP, speak to your treating team on the contact details provided. We ensure that you and your family play a central role in all decisions, and you can contact us to discuss a young person’s current care.
