Construction of the new Coomera Hospital is progressing steadily, with major structural milestones achieved in recent months.

The new Coomera Hospital is a state-of-the-art health care facility designed to cater to the growing population of the northern Gold Coast corridor, reducing pressure on Gold Coast University Hospital and Robina Hospital.

As a member of the Project User Group (PUG) and a clinical advisor, Nurse Unit Manager of the Central Sterilising Department (CSD) Kylie Coad is helping to ensure every design detail for the new Coomera Hospital is thoughtfully crafted with the needs of both staff and patients in mind.

Gold Coast University Hospital’s (GCUH) new Sub-Acute Building will feature 10 staff artworks designed to help enhance the patient experience and spark meaningful conversations. The theme, “An Image to Spark a Conversation”, focuses on creating a visually engaging environment to help connect patients to their surroundings through local Gold Coast imagery, sights and wildlife.

The Tugun Satellite Health Centre (Banyahrmabah) healing garden continues to flourish with the addition of a new sandblasting feature at the base of its existing First Nations public art and yarning circle. 

The design for the new Child and Youth Mental Health Services (CYMHS) fit-out at Proxima has been finalised, following extensive collaboration between clinicians, designers and young people with lived experience.
