Perinatal Infant Mental Health

Located at GCUH as part of the Consultation Liaison (CL) service, the Perinatal Mental Health Service provides secondary consultation for women who are pregnant, in the first year postpartum and pre-conception advice for women experiencing or at risk of relapse of serious mental illness. These include postpartum psychosis, bipolar affective disorder, schizophrenia, severe depression and anxiety disorders, eating disorders and complex severe mental health problems including comorbidity with substance and alcohol abuse and dependence disorders. There is a Perinatal Mental Health nurse who works from GCUH.

Perinatal Consultation Liaison services

Consultation and liaison service to the Women and Newborn Service and the Paediatric Service including Special Care and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Gold Coast University Hospital.

Perinatal Community services

Appointments provided at the antenatal clinic Gold Coast University Hospital, home visits and community based appointments
