Who we are
Gold Coast Health’s Numinbah Offender Health Service provides healthcare to people we care for at Numinbah Correctional Centre. This service ensures a coordinated and standard health service for women at the centre.
What we do
We offer primary healthcare, emergency response, and specialist referrals within the centre. Our services include:
Onsite
- General Practitioner (GP) – onsite two days per week with seven day on call support provided by the Offender Health Service
- Nurse Practitioner – onsite two days per week
- Primary Health Clinical Nurse clinics (OHS service)
- Specific Clinics (Chronic Disease and Hepatitis C, breast screen for female offenders)
- Prison Mental Health Clinics (via telehealth)
- Child Health Clinics (visiting Child Health Nurse)
- Optometry
Offsite
- Oral Health
- Emergency Care (Emergency Department)
- Specialist Outpatient
- Specialist Secure Unit (Princess Alexander Secure Unit (PSU) for general Outpatient Appointments
- Specialist Inpatient Care (Gold Coast University Hospital or Robina Hospital)
Who can access this service?
Our services are available to all people being cared for at the Numinbah Correctional Centre. We focus on promoting equity of healthcare access, continuity of care, health promotion, and health literacy.
How to access this service and our location
Located within Numinbah Correctional Centre in Numinbah Valley, our service operate seven days a week from 7am to 5pm.
