Cancer and Blood Disorders Ambulatory Care

Consists of the Cancer Day unit and Cancer outpatients and located on the ground floor C block at GCUH.

The Cancer Day Unit consists of 28 treatment chairs.

The unit provides ambulatory care for patients for haematology and oncology patients requiring treatment including the associated complications related to treatment.

These include:

  • Administration of drug and anticancer regimens
  • Supportive therapies
  • Bone marrow aspirations
  • Lumbar punctures

The unit operates:

Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 6:00pm

Saturdays and Public Holidays from 7:30am to 4.00pm

Cancer outpatients

The Cancer and Blood disorders outpatients provides clinics for patients with cancer or a blood disorder who are receiving treatment.

The cancer outpatients offer a range of consultation clinics to support patient care.

Clinics include the following types of consultation clinics:

  • Medical oncology
  • Haematology
  • Surgical Gynaecology - Oncology
  • Respiratory cancer
  • Specialist Cancer Nurses
  • Allied Health Head and Neck Cancer.

How to access this service

You will need a referral from your GP or medical practitioner.  Your doctor will send your referral to the hospital.
