Who we are
The Mental Health Hospital in the Home (MH HITH) service offers an innovative alternative to inpatient care, delivering specialist mental health treatment in the comfort and familiarity of a person’s own home.
Our multidisciplinary team, comprising experienced clinicians and peer workers with lived experience, delivers intensive, recovery-focused support for adults aged 18 years and older experiencing acute mental illness. This diverse team – including registered nurses, psychiatrists, medical registrars, occupational therapists, psychologists, social workers, peer and carer support workers, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workers – provides expert clinical support, evidence-based therapies, functional and psychosocial assistance, and culturally safe, person-centred interventions to promote independence and wellbeing.
