Endoscopy is a highly specialised service that encompasses outpatient clinics and both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic medical procedures.

The core service includes.

  • Gastroscopy
  • Colonoscopy
  • Endoscopic Ultrasound
  • Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
  • Capsule Endoscopy
  • Bronchoscopy and Endoscopic Bronchial Ultrasound
  • Queensland National Bowel Screening.

Therapeutic Interventions include

  • Biopsy and tissue Acquisition
  • Polypectomy including advanced mucosal resection
  • Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG) tube Insertion
  • Oesophageal & Colonic dilatation
  • Haemorrhoid ligation and injection
  • Radio Frequency Ablation
  • Emergency Intervention

Endoscopy procedures are performed across multiple sites within Gold Coast Health including Gold Coast University Hospital, Varsity Lakes Day Hospital and Robina Hospital.
