Child and Youth Mental Health Eating Disorder Program (under 22 years)

Who we are 

The Child and Youth Mental Health Service Eating Disorder Specialist Service (Youth EDSS) provides evidence-based care in the community for young people up to 22 years of age who are experiencing  eating disorders..  

What we do 

Youth EDSS provides:

  • Comprehensive assessment of eating difficulties, diagnostic classification and treatment recommendations
  • Age and developmentally appropriate, evidenced-based eating disorder treatment including family and individual treatments
  • Liaison with hospital-based services, general practitioners, schools and other professionals (only with consent) to support treatment progression and recovery

Who can access this service 

Our program is open to anyone under 22 years of age who is struggling with or diagnosed with an eating disorder that is causing significant impacts to physical health, wellbeing and functioning.

How to access this service 

If you are a current consumer, or carer of a current consumer of CYMHS, speak to your treating team to discuss the appropriateness of accessing the Youth EDSS.

If you are new to the service and a young person or carer of a young person, you can self-refer to our service via 1300 MH CALL (1300 642 255).
