Cancer and Blood Disorders Ambulatory Care is located on the ground floor, C Block at Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH). Our service includes the Cancer Day Unit and Cancer Outpatients, delivering comprehensive, patient-centred care for people with cancer and blood disorders.
Cancer Day Unit
The Cancer Day Unit features 28 treatment chairs and provides ambulatory care for patients requiring haematology and oncology treatments, as well as management of treatment-related complications.
Services include:
- Administration of chemotherapy and other anticancer therapies
- Supportive treatments and symptom management
- Bone marrow aspirations
- Lumbar punctures
Opening hours:
- Monday to Friday: 7:30am – 6:00pm
- Saturdays and Public Holidays: 7:30am – 4:00pm

Cancer Outpatients
The Cancer and Blood Disorders Outpatient Service provides specialist consultation clinics for patients diagnosed with cancer or blood disorders who are undergoing treatment or follow-up care.
Our multidisciplinary clinics support every stage of your treatment and include:
- Medical Oncology
- Haematology
- Surgical Gynaecology – Oncology
- Respiratory
- Specialist Cancer Nurses
- Allied Health

How to Access This Service
A referral from your GP or medical specialist is required. Your doctor will forward the referral directly to the hospital for review and appointment scheduling.
