Gold Coast Hospital Foundation

Who we are

The Gold Coast Hospital Foundation is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to ensuring children, adults and families in our community have access to the best possible health care when it is needed most.

As the official charity partner for Gold Coast Health, the Foundation works closely with health teams across all Gold Coast Health locations, including Gold Coast University Hospital, Robina Hospital, Varsity Lakes Day Hospital, Tugun Satellite Health Centre and our local health and community precincts, to help enhance and strengthen our health care services where it truly counts.

Each year the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation helps over 100,000 patients and their families who are navigating a critical and unexpected health journey.

What we do

The Gold Coast Hospital Foundation supports a range of crucial services, including:

Cancer Patient Transport

Sadly, transport can be a barrier to getting the care we need. The Foundation funds and manages a transport service supporting oncology patients with access to and from treatments like chemotherapy and radiation at Gold Coast University Hospital and Robina Hospital.

If you do not have sufficient transport support and financially restricted, please call (07) 5526 5288 for more information. A referral from your oncologist will be needed to access this service.

Emergency Accommodation

When a loved one is in critical care, being close by is vital. For families who live long distances away this can be an unnecessary burden, especially during peak holiday periods when costs soar and availability is limited. The Gold Coast Hospital Foundation provides emergency accommodation services to families in need. To access this service please reach out to the social worker in your hospital area who will contact the Foundation on your behalf.

Vital Medical Equipment

The Gold Coast Hospital Foundation funds crucial medical equipment to elevate health services in the Gold Coast region. From Children’s Critical Care to ICU, The Emergency Department, Oncology, Trauma Unit and more, the Foundation ensures that equipment reaches health areas where it is needed most – supporting patients and medical teams during the most critical moments of care.

The foundation has provided over 280 pieces of equipment over the past two years, including a life-saving mobile ECMO (life-support) vehicle, Stem cell Isothermal Freezer to support blood cancer patients and a D Blade Laryngoscope for neonates. The Foundation continues to deliver invaluable funding for medical equipment across our Gold Coast Health locations.

Enhancing Hospital and Health Spaces

We believe the experience of patients and their families when visiting hospital and health spaces is incredibly important. By upgrading spaces with comfortable furnishings and soothing wall murals, the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation helps to transform these areas into calming, peaceful places that can help support the emotional well-being of patients and their families during their critical health journeys.

The Foundation also helps to fund life-changing research programs, as well as scholarships for health staff, helping to continuously elevate the care and treatments provided by Gold Coast Health to our community.

Our funding

The Gold Coast Hospital Foundation receives no government funding and relies on the generosity of our partners and community to help make a meaningful difference. Without this support our services would not be available to the Gold Coast region.

Please consider donating today and helping those facing an unexpected health crisis.
