Pregnancy care

Your pregnancy care will be tailored to your individual needs and those of your baby. Care may be provided by a combination of healthcare professionals, including GPs, midwives, and public or private obstetricians.

Pregnancy care is available through:

• Community Midwifery Satellite Clinics located across the Gold Coast
• Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) appointments at community locations or in your home
• GP Shared Care, a model for women with a low-risk pregnancy that combines routine pregnancy and postnatal care with your GP and key appointments with the Gold Coast Health maternity team

The Gold Coast Public Health Unit also coordinates vaccination programs to help protect pregnant women and their babies from vaccine-preventable diseases during pregnancy.
