Surgical Short Stay Unit

The unit can accommodate up to 24 patients at a time and caters to various surgical specialties, including:

• General Surgery
• Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT)
• Urology
• Gynaecology and Urogynaecology
• Orthopaedics
• Plastic Surgery (including Breast Surgery)
• Ophthalmology
• Gastrointestinal and Gastroenterology (including Endoscopic procedures)

Our primary purpose is to deliver high quality nursing care to patients requiring elective short–term, pre-operative and post-operative support.

Additionally, we:

• Provide healthcare services to individuals with acute surgical conditions or injuries.
• Offer education and advice for patients regarding their surgical procedures and post-surgical recovery.

The Surgical Short Stay Unit is staffed by a multidisciplinary team, including a Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurses, Clinical Facilitator, Registered Nurses, Pharmacists, Medical Officers, Administrative Personnel, and Environmental Services Officers.

Our services are available to:

• Elective bookings
• Adults and young adults aged 14–90 years.
• Individuals weighing over 40 kilograms.
