Hayley is a passionate health advocate with a background in biomedical science, education, and visual arts.
Drawing from her lived experience navigating the Gold Coast's mental health system as a child and young adult, she is committed to integrating youth voices into policy development and service delivery.
Hayley represents consumers across several organisations, including Gold Coast Health, Alfred Health, the HER Centre Australia, the Inside Out Institute, and the Butterfly Collective.
She is euthanistic about making practical improvements in consumer experience and bridging the gap between clinical knowledge and lived experience. She works collaboratively to ensure that healthcare services are inclusive, person-centred, trauma-informed, and responsive to the diverse needs of individuals.
As an artist, Hayley is a strong advocate for the role of creative expression in healthcare. She believes in the transformative power of art to support mental health and well-being and actively works to create opportunities for consumers to engage in creative therapies.
Hayley envisions a future where creative practices are seamlessly integrated into mental health care, providing individuals with a more holistic and self-empowered approach to recovery.
