Gold Coast University Hospital has been designed with improved access to emergency treatment in mind.
Entry to the emergency department is located off Hollows Way, away from the hospital main entrance. A separate emergency entrance ensures unobstructed access and improved traffic flow and ambulance bays have external access to trauma rooms.
The helipad has direct access to operating theatres, intensive care, medical imaging and the emergency department via two jumbo lifts. With more than double the capacity of the previous Gold Coast Hospital and a dedicated children's area, the emergency department is set to receive patients in need of urgent care.
