The Adult Eating Disorder Program (AEDP) is a specialist, multi-disciplinary eating disorder clinic servicing the Gold Coast region. The role of AEDP is to provide assessment, evidence-based intervention, and consultation for adults experiencing an eating disorder on the Gold Coast.
Services
- Assessment clinic: A thorough and specialised multi-disciplinary assessment of eating disorder behaviour and cognitions, followed by diagnostic clarification and recommendations
- Brief Intervention Pathway: Up to 5 multi-disciplinary (e.g., psychiatrist, dietitian, psychologist) psychoeducation and intervention sessions
- Long-term psychotherapy: For those that are engaged in case management within GC Health, AEDP offer evidence-based therapeutic intervention. Currently the therapies offered are CBT-e, MANTRA, or SSCM
- Dietitian assessment and nutritional support
- Family support and education
- Link with local private providers
- Consultation and liaison with other members of the treating team
