
Clinician researchers are well placed to identify research opportunities of great relevance to the health care of our patients and its delivery. Clinician Researcher Fellowships (the Fellowships) are available to Gold Coast Health clinical staff, providing an opportunity to develop research careers while remaining clinically active, by contributing to high-quality research, supporting its translation and contributing to improved healthcare delivery.
Through the opportunity to develop research career pathways, the program aims to attract and retain skilled and promising early career researchers. Staff with a Research Higher Degree (RHD) (PhD, MPhil, or MD by thesis) within 10 years of the fellowship application closing date.
The Fellowship will provide Fellows with up to 0.4 FTE research time for up to three years, to further their research career, support a research active culture, develop and undertake a body of research in areas of existing strength, working towards national and international recognition.
There are up to two Fellowships available in 2027 (if suitable based on merit). The Fellowship program will be open to clinical staff across all disciplines, with a maximum of one Senior Medical Officers. Applicants must be an early career clinician researcher and hold a clinical position of at least 0.4 FTE at Gold Coast Health.
