- For patients requiring care less than 16 weeks, please refer to Early Pregnancy Assessmenet and Management Service (EPAMS )
- For pregnancy complications/concerns over 16 weeks gestation, please refer to Maternity Assessment Centre (not emergency department)
- For general antenatal care, please refer to Antenatal and Maternity
- For high risk first trimester screening, please refer to Maternal Fetal Medicine
- For Gynaecological related conditions, please refer to Gynaecology
- For complication post medical or surgical termination of pregnancy, refer to the Termination of Pregnancy Service
Out of Scope Services
The following conditions are out of scope for this service:
- Any woman who is Medicare ineligible
- Any woman who is haemodynamically unstable
- Any woman who is very high risk for preterm birth. This may include but is not limited to:
- Peri-viable PPROM with a non-cephalic presentation
- PPROM with a cerlage in-situ
- PPROM in the context of placenta praevia or accreta
- Any woman who has comorbidities whereby the treating medical specialist does not support Maternity Hospital in The Home
Out of Catchment
Gold Coast Health is responsible for providing public health services to the people who reside within its boundaries. Special consideration is made for patients requiring tertiary services or for services that are not provided by their local hospital and health service district. If your patient lives outside the Gold Coast Health catchment area and you wish to refer them to one of our services, please indicate relevant medical or social information that will assist with the processing of your referral.
