Useful Management Information
- Enhanced home visiting services are available for families who need extra support, due to complexities they may be facing which could impact on parenting, such as parent/carer mental health, substance misuse, domestic family violence, and social isolation.
- Home visiting services are available by referral when a family may require additional ongoing support via either a ‘Sustained’ or ‘Coordinated Care’ home visiting program.
- Home visits can be offered at regular intervals from the late antenatal period, up until the child reaches 2 years of age, depending on the need.
- Child health and developmental checks will be offered as part of the program, along with parenting support and referrals to other services where indicated.
- Advice and guidance on parenting issues can be offered through targeted interventions, to support parent/ carer confidence and to improve outcomes for their child/ children.
- The Child and Family Health Nurse will provide a range of anticipatory guidance and advice to support the health and development of the child and improve family health outcomes; the Nurse can also refer to other support services as required.
- The program can be offered in a clinic/community setting and/or virtually, depending on the family's needs.
