A record health infrastructure investment as part of the 2025-26 Queensland Budget will help progress the new Coomera Hospital project.
As part of the $18.5 billion Hospital Rescue Plan, the investment in new and upgraded hospitals includes a commitment to deliver the new Coomera Hospital, featuring at least 600 overnight beds – 200 more than originally planned.
This is in addition to providing day surgery, maternity services, operating theatres, an intensive care unit and new car parking spaces to improve accessibility for patients, carers, visitors and staff.
The new Coomera Hospital will come at an important time for the Gold Coast community, which continues to experience increasing demand for health care services.
Stage one early works are underway while planning continues on how best to accommodate the additional 200 beds and to ensure the hospital connects effectively to public transport.
