- This program is for people aged 65 years and over (over 50 for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) living independently within the Gold Coast community.
- Participants must be registered with and attain My Aged Care approval to attend.
- The program will be:
- 90 minute sessions: 60 minutes exercise and activity; 30 minutes education and discussion
- individualised to suit each participant
- will be under the supervision of our physiotherapist
- moderate-intensity with regular rest breaks and technical assistance
- Exercise and education programs are designed to:
- improve function, mobility, strength, balance and confidence.
- increase lower limb strength, upper limb strength, conditioning, mobility and functional capacity through a mixture of weight-bearing, resistance, mobility, balance and coordination exercises.
Out of Catchment
Gold Coast Health is responsible for providing public health services to the people who reside within its boundaries. Special consideration is made for patients requiring tertiary services or for services that are not provided by their local hospital and health service district. If your patient lives outside the Gold Coast Health catchment area and you wish to refer them to one of our services, please indicate relevant medical or social information that will assist with the processing of your referral.
