The Tugun Satellite Hospital opened its doors to its first patients on 15 November.

The Minor Injury and Illness Clinic is the first stage to open at the facility and can be accessed for walk-in care such for non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses.

The clinic will also provide medical imaging and diagnostic services, including x-ray and pathology.
A range of appointment-based healthcare services are planned to commence during 2024, including minor procedures and in-centre haemodialysis treatment.

There will also be a range of outpatient services including multi-disciplinary kidney services, allied health services including podiatry, physiotherapy, nutrition, social work, psychology and neuropsychology and midwifery services for women and their newborns.

Located at 57 Boyd Street, Tugun, the new facility is a significant addition to Gold Coast Health’s infrastructure, supporting the demand on existing hospital facilities.
