On 27 September 2021 the Medicines and Poisons Act 2019 introduced two key new legislative requirements:
Mandatory requirement for:
- relevant practitioners to check QScript, Queensland’s real-time prescription monitoring system,
- prescribers and dispensers to comply with the Monitored Medicines Standard
Queensland Health are now reviewing these requirements to evaluate fit-to-purpose and/or any resulting unintended consequences.
