Due to the impact of rising COVID-19 cases in the Gold Coast community, Gold Coast Health is redirecting some clinical and support staff to frontline acute services.

As a result, there will be some temporary changes to other healthcare services, including placing some non-urgent outpatient referrals on hold.

Referrals are still being accepted however patients are being advised there will be a delay before they are offered an appointment.

Please monitor and manage the care of patients waiting for an appointment. Should you feel the condition of your patient deteriorates, please re-refer to the service with updated clinical information. If they then meet Category 1 or 2 criteria, they may be upgraded and seen in line with their respective category wait times.

To assist you with the ongoing management of patients please consult HealthPathways for relevant advice.

If you require further advice from a consultant to assist you in the management of these patients, please contact the GP Advice Line.

Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding during this challenging time.
