We appreciate the support you have provided to the New South Wales (NSW) community during the pandemic.

As part of the Queensland COVID-19 response, Gold Coast Health is now required to redirect clinical and support staff to a range of frontline services.

There will be temporary limitations on NSW patients accessing outpatient services at Gold Coast Health facilities unless clinically urgent and not available in NSW.

These limitations at Gold Coast Health mean that during the period of COVID response we will not accept new outpatient referrals for NSW residents with conditions triaged as Category 2 or 3.

There is currently no change to referrals for patients residing in Queensland.

Referrals in Queensland are categorised against Clinical Prioritisation Criteria (CPC). We would urge you to review CPC using the Refer Your Patient website and your local HealthPathways before making any referrals for patients from NSW during this current situation to avoid delay to patient care.

Should you only require advice about the management of these patients, you can access specialist advice via the GP Advice Line on 1300 00 4242.

If you have any other enquiries about these referrals please contact the GP Liaison Officer Dr Kate Johnston on GCGPLU@health.qld.gov.au .
