- Polyclonal paraproteinaemias are common and seldom have a haematological cause. Only refer monoclonal paraproteinaemias to Haematology.
- Any patient with a monoclonal paraproteinamia and acute renal impairment or hypercalcaemia should be urgently referral to Emergency.

- ESR/CRP
- Serum free light chains
- Serum Protein electrophoresis
- E/LFT
Additional Referral Information
- CT scans if done
- Immunoglobulins and B2 microglobulin
- Urine protein studies/ Bence-Jones protein
