Useful Management Information
- Note acute infections if unresponsive to treatment or acutely unwell from infection should be emergency referrals
- FNA not indicated or appropriate in children
- Suspected solid paediatric tumours should be urgently referred through local general paediatric service and/or paediatric oncology services
- Observation for six weeks is appropriate for most enlarged lymph nodes <2cm in size
- Reactive

- can commence augmentin and follow-up closely
- acute infection If unresponsive to treatment or acutely unwell from infection should be referred for emergency treatment
- Neoplastic
- nil GP management recommended
- Next of kin or person(s) who is legally responsible for patient consent, with the exception of children under guardianship orders with the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability services, should be present at the first outpatient appointment
