CHI leads and provides project management support for a number of initiatives across Gold Coast Health. Our interventions are evidence-based, involve wide-reaching stakeholder input, and are subject to rigorous evaluation.
Our dedicated research team works closely with academic partners to undertake research and evaluation, underpinning all the projects being undertaken by CHI. We translate research findings into operational and clinical practice and share lessons with other health services in Australia and internationally.
CHI is the first Hospital and Health Service centre for innovation in Australia to specialise and apply a model of organisational change called Relational Coordination to improve working relationships and communication between stakeholders, team and individuals. Relational Coordination focuses on the human dimensions of team work and the relational dynamics of task coordination.
Part of CHI’s role is to better understand patient flow (the patients journey through the hospital from the time they are admitted to the time they are discharged) and the challenges, to develop appropriate interventions to address and overcome these challenges.
